Watch the following clips on the Dalia Lama:
Read the following articles:Article 1
Article 2
1.) Give a brief description of who the Dalai Lama is? (Include resources to support)
The Dalai Lama is the spiritual leader of a village located in the Himmalayas. He was given this town to govern when the chinese had invaeded his homeland of Tibet. The Dalai Lama is a teacher according to the Dalai Lama. One time in the year he recites Buddism teachings for two weeks to pilgrims and monks. The Dalai Lama is bassically the Pope of the Tibetan Buddism.
2.) Evaluate how the actions of the Dalai Lama in regard to the riots in Tibet would be regarded as exemplary moral integrity.
His actions of completelty resigning as the Dalai Lama if the roits and violence in the Tibetan capital Lasa get out of control is regarded as actions of exemplary moral integrity due to the fact he is willing to step down from a mssive role to save Tibetans from harm and to not further pump the Tibetans up by having the Dalai Lama’s support.
This action would have a massive impact the world, Buddism, China and especially the Tibetans. By stepping down as the Dalai Lama no further violence would go on.

Watch the following clip on Maximillian Kolbe:
1.) Define the term ‘moral integrity’
In my opinion, moral integrity is a person’s way of thinking thinking. Family, cultural, religious values all play a part in making choices and actions. An individually will act accordingly on what the individual thinks is right and what is wrong.
2.) Describe why Maximillian Kolbe is regarded as a Christian of exemplary moral integrity.
Maximillian Kolbe is regarded as a Christian of exemplary moral integrity due to the fact he was sent to a concentration camp for invalid reasons for example, being a journalist. Maximillian Kolbe was a polish priest, in the concentration camp he comforted his fellow prison mates that everything has an ending even suffering. He was very compassionate for the inmates that was less fortunate than him and smuggled bread for the hungry. He continued his priestly ministry in unlikely place hearing confessions. He undertook the task of moving the tortured bodies.
One day a prisoner had escaped the concentration camp, therefore inmates in the same cabins had to be killed. The German guards selected 10 inmates, one which is a polish sergeant who was married. Kolbe begged the guards to take him him instead of the sergeant. He had wished to die for that man, he said that he was useless anyway. In the death chamber, Kolbe comforted the inmates through prayer songs and teachings. Kolbe had sacrificed his life for someone that was not even related to him. He showed unwilling love even in the darkest hours of the world.3.) Outline Maximillians ethical actions/principles that he demonstrated in Auschwitz.
Kolbe displayed many ethical actions in Auschwitz. He showed great compassion for the less capable people in the camp. Also he sacrificed himself for another man that was not even related to him. The man was very thankful for saving his life. In the death Chambers that Kolbe had been put in, comforted other the other men through prayer, songs and teachings. Kolbe had a very strong faith in the cross, he did his priestly ministries in awkward place hearing confessions. He smuggled food for the sickly, aware that he might get caught and be sent off to be tortured and get killed.
Through these ethical actions that Kolbe made statement to the survivors of the camps that he had sought for justice and raised the bar for one of the ten commandments which is Love your neighbour. Kolbe showed that the cross will guide your way in the darkest of all darkness.
4.) Evaluate whether you think he made the right decision and provide research to support your answer. i.e. Catholic teachings.
I think that Kolbe made a right decision to sacrifice himself for another man. That significant decision had made the prisoners gain faith that the suffering will end. His actions were very powerful and influenced people to stand up for what they believe in and to have faith in the cross and to let the cross guide their life. Her is a bible passage describing Christ’s sacrifice for humanity:
Hebrew 10:1-10
1The law is only a shadow of the good things that are coming—not the realities themselves. For this reason it can never, by the same sacrifices repeated endlessly year after year, make perfect those who draw near to worship. 2If it could, would they not have stopped being offered? For the worshipers would have been cleansed once for all, and would no longer have felt guilty for their sins. 3But those sacrifices are an annual reminder of sins, 4because it is impossible for the blood of bulls and goats to take away sins.
5Therefore, when Christ came into the world, he said:
”Sacrifice and offering you did not desire,
but a body you prepared for me;
6with burnt offerings and sin offerings
you were not pleased.
7Then I said, ‘Here I am—it is written about me in the scroll—
I have come to do your will, O God. 8First he said, “Sacrifices and offerings, burnt offerings and sin offerings you did not desire, nor were you pleased with them” (although the law required them to be made). 9Then he said, “Here I am, I have come to do your will.” He sets aside the first to establish the second. 10And by that will, we have been made holy through the sacrifice of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.

1.) Describe the term ‘interactive TV’. The term interactive TV is defined ‘A TV broadcast that allows a user to do something other than watch the program, from getting more information, submitting an email, or making a purchase’ according to the www.tvb.org/multiplatform/Multiplatform_Glossary.asp website. In my opinion, I think interactive TV is TV that can be controlled by the viewer however he wants it.
2.) Explain the reasons why interactive TV is now called TV 2.0.Interactive TV has now been referred as TV 2.o due to the fact it is very similar to collaborative sites such as bebo, myspace and youtube. Interactive TV lets the viewer to change what they please how they want it. In the above youtube clip it referees to site in which people can download what shows or programs they want to watch and then may customize how they would watch.
3.) Outline the positives and negatives of implementing interactive TV.
Some positives of inputting interactive TV is that it is a more convenient way of watching shows, viewer can just watch his favourite shows at his own leisure and that old shows and movies could be download by the viewer to be watched at anytime. Some negatives of inputting Interactive TV is that people can gain access to inappropriate materials more easily through the net for example pornography and cyber bullying videos and clips. Also people can illegally download movies and videos of the net.
4.) Apple released recently Apple TV - Take 2. Describe the reasons why it needed to be changed.
Apple TV Take 1 needed to be changed due to the fact it was to much of the movies and not so much on TV series such as Home and Away, The Simpsons, CSI or American Dad.
