The Big Bang is thought to be the phase in which our universe was created from. The Bi Bang was thougt to have happened 14 billion years ago. the matter that is spread around were mostly hydrogen and helium atoms which are the bases of our planets and stars. Here is a timeline in how the big bang occured.

1. Has your image of Jesus changed during the project? How or Why not?

NO not yet because I still have a limited knowledge of the project and because of the time constraints of the journals and individual tasks.

2. What do you feel is the best way to portray an image of Jesus and why?

The best to portray an image of Jesus is through colour and hidden symbols and ways that these symbols are portayed for example hidden writing in an image.

3. What have you enjoyed about the project so far and what would you do differently?

I have enjoyed that we work as a group better and work more faster than other projects. I would the beginings of the project differently by doing all journals and individual tasks first before starting the project.

The Shapes of the Universe June 16, 2008

There are several forms that a universe can have. There are flat, open and closed universes. I will explain each one of them.

Flat Universe:

Flat universes are a type of universe that stops expanding but does not reverse or contract into itself.

Open Universe:

An open universe is a type of universe that is has a low enough mass expands forever but at slowing a decreasing rate. Eventually, stars in galaxies will stop shining and this universe will become very cold and dark to to the fact that there is so much space in between stars and galaxies.

Closed Universe:

A closed universe is a type of universe that will eventually stop expanding but as well reverses. The retraction of the universe is caused by gravitational pull of matter. This contraction mat cause whole universe to collapse on itself which may then cause it to result of causing anither Big Bang starting the whole process again.

1) What form of medium (music, art or literature ) allows you to best connect with Jesus and Why?

The form of medium that allows me to connect with God the best is music because when you sing, you would give it all because you are singinig for God. Also you experience and feel the same way as the artist who composed the song felt like when they wrote it. This is also another way of spreading the word of God through song and music, because it is in music format people can get access to it easier due to the internet.

2) Why has Jesus been portrayed in so many different ways throughout history?

Jesus I think has been portrayed in so many different ways to show that he comes in different forms for example the holy spirit. Another thought, is that he was portrayed in so many diffferent ways due to the fact that trends and interest were change every time so the Catholic church change how Jesus was portrayed to fit in with the latest trends and hobbies.

3) How is Jesus portrayed at Parramatta Marist?

At Parramatta Marist, Jesus is portrayed through literature, the use of the internet and vidoes. Although these are just materialised stuff, Jesus aslo is portrayed through the teachers of Parramatta Marist. The teachers here are very much like Jesus only that they cannot make a miracle happen. Teachers are always there when you need to ask a question or even if you are in need of support.

4) What artistic time period do you think best represents your image of Jesus and why?

I think that the best art period of my image of Jesus is the Comtemporary art period because I can free show what I think of Jesus in a new way and the use of technology. It will be easy for me to portray Jesus in the modern time as I have a good knowledge of the modern environment and how I can manipulate the modern resources to produce my image of Jesus.

5) Identify one image of Jesus that appeals to you. What do you like about the representation?

One image of Jesus that appeals to me is the image of Jesus in the contemporary art period of Street Art Jesus. The things that I like with the representation of Jesus here is that he is modernised to fit in with the current trends and stytles of the modern world and the artist made Jesus like a modern day youth would turn out like.

6) What factors currently shape your image of Jesus and why.

The factors that currently shape my image of jesus is the:

1) What words and or images come to mind when you hear the word Jesus.

The images and words that come to mind when I hear the word Jesus is:

2) Why might it be important for young people to identify with an image of Jesus?

I think that it is important for young people to recognize images of Jesus because it can help the young people live a better life ahead of them, they can learn moral ideals and not to make vital mistakes that can affect their future life.

3) Where in your life do you most associate with images of Jesus?

I mostly associate images of Jesus in life when I am sad, when I am alone at home I jsut look at an image of Jesus and then I get a feeling that he is always there no matter what. Images of Jesus also helps me and my family know how he looked liked when we pray.

Journal 1- 3.3 Life of a Star June 4, 2008

1 A nebula is a vast cloud of gas and dust in space.

2 The main fuel in stars is hydrogen.

3 Burns hydrogen, red giant, burns helium, white dwarf

4 The limited hydrogen fuel will run out and our Sun will expand to form a red giant and eventually collapse to form a white dwarf. A star with a mass of ten Suns uses up its fuel more rapidly and becomes a blue supergiant and then expands to form a red supergiant which collapses, causing a supernova, resulting in a neutron star.

5 A pulsar is a rapidly rotating neutron star with a strong magnetic field. It emits radio waves that sweep across space.

6 A black hole is formed by the collapse of a star the size of many Suns.

7 We cannot see black holes because light cannot escape from them. We know they exist because of the X-rays emitted by them, and the behaviour of nearby stars.

8 The elements were produced when stars collapsed.

9 Blue supergiant, red supergiant, supernova, neutron star

10 You could not lift it.

11 Our region of the galaxy rotates around (rather than falling into) the black hole.

12 Jocelyn Bell Burnell discovered pulsars in outer space in 1967 by actually chance! Her and Anthony Hewish were studying distant galaxies, when suddenly their telescope that was pointed in a certain point in the sky detected a pulsed signal. Fisrt scientist and astronemers thought of this signal tobe from an extra-terrestrial civilisation. When the signals were establisked that they were not from that origin, they called a pulsar as its signals are pulsed.

a) Black Holes: A black hole froms when a massive enough star collapses and it becomes even more dense than a neutron star to from a balck hole. It is o dense that even light cannot escape its gravity.

b) Some features that a black hole has are:

1. How many rubrics are there for this project?
There are three current rubrics in this project which are the Group Rubric, Individual Rubric and the Group Task 1 Rubric.

2. Describe the purpose of the rubric?
The purpose of the rubric is to let students know what they are being marked for and so that they would know what to do to get an A. It is bassically the criteria of a project or course in which certain task have to be accomplish to get a certain mark.

3. How can you use the rubric to get the best possible mark?
I can use the rubric to achieve the best possible marks out of this project by constantly checking the rubric that I have done those certain task to accomplish a certain mark. Also I can use the rubric like a answers sheet for example I am doing a individual task, the rubric can help me heaps as it contains all the certain aspects of the assessment that is required for my desired mark.

1. List TWO problems that could occur from students selecting their own groups.

Two problems that could occur when students are selecting thier own groups is that some students may select students that are friends with them which can cause the selected group to misbehave and not do their work as they are to busy mucking around. Another problem that could occur when students are selecting their own groups is that the students that are selecting other students get into a fight about who would get that person in their group and who will end up with a group that they did not.

2. Which type of student do you think would be selected first?

The type of student who would be selected first is a student that is intelligent, does their work in class, their work is really good and gets high marks, completes all their work on time and that they work in the groups.

3. Why do you think they were selected first?

The reason I think that this tpe of student is chosen first becasue people would want to get good marks and would like to pass with ease this project using that type of person as good morale booster. People would also want a good leader who would lead them to get a good mark and knows how to manage a group without any hassles.

4. Which type of student do you think was selected last?

The type of student that be would mostly likely be selected last are the student who do not do work in their groups, students who do not co-operate with other group members, students who does not submit their work on time, students that do get in toruble all the time which means less time to their work in class whch then leads to the above and people who likes to take sickies often.

5. What beneficial characteristics can you offer to your group?

Some beneficial characteristics that I can offer the gorup is that:

6. List THREE things you personally would like to improve on during this project.

The 3 things that I would personally like to improve on is:
